I am soooo tired

Wow, yesterday’s visit with Gus was sure nice.He is my friend.

We had lots of fun and wrestled, talked and chased but now I am tired. I watched birds, laid in the sunshine and yelled lots when Gus got lost.  He got lost many times. Sometimes he was lost and hiding behind my back, where I wasn’t looking.dscn2651Tim at rest

It was so exciting I had to go to sleep… even today I am still sleeping. I get very tired when Gus visits and plays with me.

I came down from my night sleep this morning and cuddled mommy and daddy.  I quickly ate my breakfast; I like food. I followed mommy downstairs to her office and quickly laid in her chair… I will churp and purr when mommy or daddy come by and want to give me pets and cuddles.  But mostly, I will take a small break and rest from my fun visit. Today I think is going to be a good day; I will sleep some.

Sunday company

Today has been one of those great days.  My buddy Gus came to visit me!

Two Guys at the windowI gave Gus great big hugs when he arrived. He hugged me back and made lots of good Gus noises… and hit me on my head with his front paws. I closed my eyes and fell on top of him and hugged him some more. I think he likes my hugs.

Gus’s mommy brought lots of food for me to eat… I like eating Gus’s food best. Gus likes eating mine, too.

We went into my play room; we ran VERY fast around my house. Mommy opened windows for us to look out of and I looked outside.  Gus hid from the sunshine and looked out the windows from the back of the sofa. Gus likes being up high; I like being warmed by the sun. We played chase many times around the house. When Gus got lost, I yelled loudly for Gus to come play. He just ignored me. I tried to get Gus to come watch my birds, but he stayed on the ground and looked at other things.

In the laundry roomWhen Gus laid down for too long in my favorite places, I ran and made him move away. He made lots of noises, waved his arms, tried to hit me in the face but he finally left.

Gus and I slept a lot. I got to lay in the sunshine by my window; Gus slept on the sofa and on the dining room table- he likes sleeping up high.

We had a fun time, ate each others food, and used each others litter pans.

I am glad when Gus comes to visit me.

The Doctor.

Yesterday was a very scary day.  Mommy got up EARLY in the morning (she never does that) and gave me snuggles.  Then we went on a car ride.  I like cars.  But then she took a wrong turn.  We went to the doctor.  I shook and cried, but she took me in anyway.  Then to make it even worse, they took me away from her!  They put me in a kennel in the back for a very long time.  There were dogs barking, and kitties crying, and weird smells and it was scary!!!  Then they took me out and shaved one of my legs and put something in it.  It hurt, so I kicked it out.  Then they shaved one of my front legs.  I started waving and crying because I wanted Mommy.  They said I was being difficult.  So they shaved my other front leg and put something in there that made me feel really tired and yucky.  Then they cleaned my teeth (or so Mommy tells me).  Then they put me back in that kennel.  I don’t like kennels.  They gave me more medicine, it made me see things.  It was scary.  Then Mommy and Daddy came to pick me up.  Daddy NEVER comes to the doctor!  I must have been really lucky. (or bad depending on which way you look at it)  I sat on Mommy’s lap the whole way home.  She didn’t know why I was scared.  They had only told her that I would be sleepy.  I was scared of the lights and of moving.  We went upstairs, and Mommy let me out.  I got REALLY scared.  I ran into things and I fell on my butt.  People made noises and I fell on my butt.  I couldn’t walk straight, and I didn’t know who Mommy and Daddy were.  So Mommy called the doctor.  Then they put me into the bathroom with my pan, my food, my bed, and my favorite toys.  I calmed down.  It was dark.  Soon Daddy came to let me out.  Mommy said that I had eaten a lot.  I liked my food.  I ate two whole cans!  I’m going to be a big boy.  Then I went and snuggled with Mommy and Daddy on the couch.  We watched TV together.  I fell asleep.

I’m feeling much better now.

Gus! My buddy.

My buddy Gus came for a visit today.

He was already in the house and walking through the family room when I finally noticed he was there.  When he saw me, he smiled and hissed. Gus was happy to see me!

timgus1We chased each other around the house.  We ran very fast.  Gus chased me… I chased Gus.  I was fastest.

I helped Gus eat his food.  His mommy brought my favorite kind of food- Gus’ food!  I ate a lot;  Gus ate a lot, too.

We ran and played.  We made lots of noise.  We crashed into walls because we ran very fast.  My feet would not hold onto the ground when I made fast turns.  I slid.

timgus2When we finished running, we got to look at the birds and squirrels.  We made lots of chatter. The birds and squirrels liked us.  We liked looking at them.  They were exciting.  We had fun.  Gus let me sit next to him.  He didn’t even yell or hiss or show me his teeth.

Then Gus went home… I was tired.  I slept.

Back to work…

Oh well, the holidays are over. My rest time is at an end. I have to go back to the office again. My work is waiting.

It means my commute is back again; I have to walk downstairs to the basement office, and it’s a long walk. When I get to the office, I have to sit at my windows at look for my mice (the huge ones with really big sticks on their heads); I look for my squirrels- the black ones and the grey ones, too. I have to sit and stare out to see where they go and make sure they don’t come into my house- I don’t think they will actually all fit in my house. There are too many of them and they would eat all my foods.

I have to talk to mommy to make sure she knows I’m in the office with her; she gets lonely otherwise.  She spends a lot of time staring at a light screen and making clicking sounds; mommy gets very lonely when I am quiet and not near her! I keep her awake.

I have to sniff everything downstairs to make certain things are just right. I have to look for Gus, just in case he stayed here after his mommy and daddy left.

I sit and look. I look and sit. I wait and sniff.

I have lots to do. I missed getting all my work done during the holidays. I think I’ll sit in my chair and think.timdesk

I’ll be done soon….

My friend!

I was resting upstairs in my bed when I heard the front door bell. I like it when the front door bell rings; it usually means people have come to visit me! People like to visit me!

I ran fast out to the hall and yelled loud.  I have to yell loud so people will know I am there… I don’t want them to miss me, because they have come to visit me. They want to pet me and be my friends, mostly.

Gus was there! My buddy. He is my very best friend.  I like him a lot.  He makes lots of loud noises, rolls over to show me how big his feet are and waves his arms! He makes funny noises and shows me his teeth; I think he is proud of his teeth.

He curls up and tries to grab me with his arms. I like to jump on him and show him how friendly I can be.  He gets really noisy when I play with him in a kitty heap. He gets really small and yells at me. Gus had many loud things to say- for little kitty he sure has a big voice. He tells me all kinds of things and I have to stand still.

tim-gus-eatingWhen I stand still and let him out of our cuddly kitty heap, he goes fast to my eating place and eats my food for me. I think he is trying to be helpful.  He likes my food!  It is good food.  I like food!

Sometimes when he yells really loudly and holds me with his teeth, Gus’ mommy and daddy put Gus in a room by himself. I think it’s because Gus gets tired quickly. When he is in his room resting, I have to lay really low and stick my arms under the door. When I do that really well, Gus will come and touch my paws. I think he likes playing with me.  I am sad when Gus is tired and has to rest.

We got to play and cuddle many times. Gus was very happy. He waved his arms lots! He got to roll over on the ground and let me cuddle him. He got to rest many times.  I like being his friend.

I think he likes me.

Boxes

Every now and then, Mommy and Daddy go out.  And when they come back, they always have these really cool cardboard things for me to play on and chew!  One time, they came back with these things that Mommy puts on the stove and makes food with (I don’t get why she likes those), but she gave me the box!  And it had little cardboard things inside of it that I could throw around and make a mess with.  It made them laugh.  I like making them laugh.  Then last week, Daddy got something that Mommy called his Christmas present.  I don’t really get it, it’s a box that sits on a table and they watch pictures on it.  I’m not sure what it really does.  But it came with a HUGE box!  Daddy cut doors in it, and made me a ramp too.  I really like it.  I can climb on it, and in it, too!  And they even throw toys in there for me to play with.  And when they’re in my room with me, I can stand on top of it and give them kisses.  I like giving kisses.  Mommy says I’m a good kisser.  I think she might like me.  But my favorite boxes are the ones that they’re using.  Those are really awesome.  I really like it when Daddy and Mommy play games, because I can take over their box and then they can’t put anything away and have to stay up with me allllllll night!  It’s pretty exciting.  And I discovered that shoe boxes are almost as much fun as toilet paper!  I can shred them too.  Mommy doesn’t like it when I shred boxes or toilet paper though.  I don’t understand it.  I think it’s fun!  She’s worried about me getting something called a “blockage” again.  I don’t remember it, but she says it’s from when I ate styrofoam when I was little.  She says I didn’t like it.  Well, that’s all for today.  I have to go help Mommy do the laundry.  I’m a good helper!

Tim- early morning

Early mornings are one of my favorite times of day.

For some reason there’s always a lot of heavy walking going on around my house before I manage to get let out of my sleeping room. I have to yell a lot; and, it seems like it takes a long time before anyone ever hears me. I hear showers run and feet stomping above my head.  The good news is some one always comes to rescue me. They really seem happy to see me and cuddle a bit, especially at my scratching post. I like being picked up and having my head rubbed. I purr as loud as I can, that’s pretty hard considering how hungry I always am.

Did I mention, I like food?

Anyway once we have a quick cuddle, I run to my water dish – I like the moving waterfall kind. The water there tastes best! By the time I have a drink, someone is at the big white food box getting me some food.  I like food.

They walk over to the counter and fill my dish; I stretch my feet to the counter top and make nice little purr noises. Then they walk with me to my food place and I get to eat.

I like eating.

Mornings are really nice… especially the food part.

Gus

Hi Friends!  My name is Gus.  More technically, I am Sir Augustus Lancelot Meowgie Esquire the third (prestigious don’t you think?), but I am referred to as “Gus” or “Gusalupagus”.

It was in October of 2007 that I was found, I was only about 4 months old.  I was left out in the cold in South Bend, Indiana.  I was being beaten by sticks, and having rocks thrown at me by mean children.  I was also being attacked by dogs (and still cannot hear a dog bark without being scared to death).  A very nice couple named Jeremy and Miriam took me in.  They tried very hard to find my family, but no one seemed to want me.  Then one day, we went on a very, very, very long drive.  All the way to Colorado.  There, I met my new family, who happened to be Jeremy’s little sister, and her husband.  (I like them, they’re my favorite)  I was very scared for the first few days, but then I saw my new home, where I had my OWN room, many toys, and plenty of food to fill my little belly.  They even let me snuggle with them on the bed!!!

Now, I’m a big boy.  They bring home boxes just for me to play in, feed me yummy things (my favorites are goldfish crackers, roast beef, and cheese), and let me do whatever I want.  Yeah, I’m pretty much totally awesome.  And everyone always comes to visit and play with me, and give me belly rubs.

Regularly, I am taken over to my arch-enemy’s house (he’s also my best friend) and I’m forced to play with him.  I don’t like him very much, I have to growl and hiss at him to keep him in his place.  But he’s learning.  I’m just scared of him because he’s so much bigger than me, and I’m such a little boy.

That’s all for now, we shall talk more later.

Kisses!

Gus

Tim

Hi. I am Tim! Actually my entire name is Timothy Taag McDoogal (elegant, don’t you think?)

It wasn’t too long ago that I was locked up in a PetsMart jail. I must have done something wrong in order to get there, but I don’t know what it was.  They even named me Patches… I really must have made a big mistake. I don’t know, maybe my old owners had too many pets… or been under some financial stress. Who knows?!?!

The people at PetsMart treated me pretty nicely, but still I managed to come down with kennel cough and several other nasty ailments. My ‘accommodations’ were tolerable, although I never really liked them.

I sure was glad when my new people came to ‘break me out’ one day. Going from a small jail cell to a house was awesome… although my first bath wasn’t really splendid.

My new people sure tried to be friendly; even though I felt lousy.

To let you know a bit more about me…

I am a very friendly guy.  Everybody likes me! I am almost certain about that. People regularly come by to visit me. I am totally irresistible!  People practically stumble over themselves when I’m around!

I talk a lot because people are a bit ‘slow’ and need to hear what I have to say. For some reason, they seem to be get lost a lot and are often lonely for me. My shouting seems to help them find me. It really is hard to keep them from getting lonely.

Oh and did I mention, I like food?!?! Food is one of my favorite things. I used to be thin, but now I am robust. Some people think I’m getting fat, but what do they know? I’m just a big guy. Oh and I really do like food- fresh baked turkey, especially.

Anyway that’s a bit about me. We’ll get better acquainted as time progresses….
